Underground Transmission Consulting provides engineering consulting specific to underground high voltage cable systems in providing design support, feasibility analysis, technical studies and related services. Our focus, specialty and expertise is with high voltage cable systems design, installation, maintenance, repair and test.
VINCENT CURCI

Vincent Curci has more that 35 years of underground transmission experience. He has a bachelor of science degree and two master degrees in electrical engineering with emphasis of power systems.
Vince was in charge of underground transmission engineering at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. After retiring from LADWP, he joined HDR Engineering and was the underground transmission technical lead.
Vince’s expertise is with the design, installation, maintenance, repair and test of high voltages cables circuits at 138 and 230 kV as part of his responsibilities with LADWP. He also has experience with public and community outreach, providing expert testimony and environmental studies. His expertise extends to cross-linked polyethylene insulated cables, high pressure pipe type cables and self-contained cables.
Vince has also supported clients with project at 35 kV, 69 kV, 115 kV, 220 kV, 345 kV and 500 kV while he was with HDR. This includes design, drawings, feasibility studies, calculations, analysis and engineering support on ongoing or proposed projects.
Vince has also prepared three technical reports for EPRI in a framework of comparison of overhead and underground transmission lines, feasibility assessment of converting pipe type cables to XLPE cables and installation of cables in tunnels.
He is the Chair of the Insulated Conductors Committee Discussion Group C40D to replace pipe type with XLPE cable while re-utilizing the steel pipe.
Vince is a member of IEEE and he is registered professional engineer in California.
